Off-grid living full of heart

About

Welcome to Candlebark Ridge, a unique luxury off-grid tiny home nestled amongst 18-acres of untamed native bushland in the foothills of South Sister, just north of Saint Marys on Tasmania’s rugged east coast.

Overlooking the neighbouring farmland to the north and the Tasman Sea to the east, this adult-only experience is a perfect option for those seeking time out in a serene and cosy setting.

Breathe in the cool, clean air while enjoying your favourite drink on the deck, and listen to the sounds of native bird life while you soak in the spectacular sweeping views over the ocean below.

Disconnect with technology and reconnect with nature.

Accommodation

Designed by the owners and built by Red Verandah designs in Cygnet (Southern Tasmania), the tiny home at Candlebark Ridge offers up a unique accommodation option for the adventure-minded and eco conscious traveller.

We hold accreditation from the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT) as a Quality Tourism and Sustainable Tourism accredited business, demonstrating our compliance with rigorous environmental standards for tourism standards in Australia.

Blending mid-century design with modern charm, the butterflied roofline provides a sense of grandeur and space - the king bed platform is surrounded by two large picture frame windows which allow guests to gaze endlessly at the ever-changing landscapes throughout their stay.

There is a generous sized galley kitchen, a large fridge/freezer and a moveable island bench which faces east, providing stunning views of the surrounding bushland and ocean from indoors.

The bathroom features a full sized tiled shower, handmade ceramic vanity basin and an Australian-made Green Loo composting toilet.

There are two forms of heating in the tiny home - a “Mini Meg” wood fire by New Zealand owned company Roaring Meg Fires for those who love the ambience of a wood-fire, and an in-built bio-diesel fan heater, which turns on and off at the touch of a button.

A ceiling fan over the king bed, multiple opening windows with fly screens and electric operated blinds help to create air flow and cool the tiny home internal temperatures during the warmer months.

We are currently available to book via the Airbnb platform only. We are setting up direct booking through our website which will be available soon.

At Candlebark Ridge you can explore nature, hike in the mountains and trails, swim or surf at nearby beaches, and enjoy breathtaking sunsets.
